Newsletter - 26th September 2001

Hello and very warm greetings from sunny Africa Hope this finds you all well. I'm very fine and still just happy and buzzing that I'm actually here in Africa. It's a great feeling to know you are where you are meant to be, God has really blessed me with this call to Africa, and I know He is with me here.

My days are quite varied at the moment, some lazy days, some busy hot noisy days in the city, some long days in offices trying to get registration stuff sorted out. Yesterday I joined 2 ladies here for a wee trip to Jinja which is a 1 and half hour drive to the east of Kampala, and it's where Lake Victoria meets the Nile (and then goes on for 4000 miles to the Mediteranian), it was a good day and nice to see some of the countryside, sugar-cane and tea plantations - Uganda is SO green! The roads are not in good condition, so it makes the journey hot, noisy and bumpy!

One unfortunate thing is that I've not been sleeping well, but that could just be all the stuff that's happening around, I feel OK but it's a bit draining. I'm on this anti-malarial Larium that has some horror stories of side effects, incl insomnia, mood swings and hallucinations. I dislike and never usually psycho-analyse myself but I am having to assess 'Is this me or am I going mad?'

I'm going to start language and culture studies on Mon 1 Oct, so I would appreciate prayers for that.

I've gotta go. If I haven't said already this is the best e-mail contact for me, I have no internet access at the moment, so it's either this matokeinn one or the AIM-Uganda one.

Take care and God Bless

MARSALI
